One year of legal training or legal experience or at least two years of college education may be substituted for the paralegal certificate. Additionally, at least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order) is required Required Skills: This position requires basic knowledge of administrative law, claim processing, and some knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. The individual must have skill in using technology, Excel spreadsheets, adobe, word documents, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, have excellent communication skills, be highly organized, detail oriented, able to collaborate within and across small and large teams, and be able to pivot priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Additionally, at least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (as related to the task order) is required; trial experience very helpful. Automated litigation support experience valued. Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw to perform basic legal research. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems. Role also requires basic familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources. Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important." Preferred Skills: N/A Day-to-day Responsibilities: The MET seeks a paralegal to administer the MET workflow assignments, prep claims for substantive review, manage MET internal and external communications, manage MET productivity reporting, manage and update the MET intranet page, and provide administrative assistance with MET meetings, trainings, guidance document creation and revisions, transition to new technology platforms, and any other duties as the MET workflow evolves. Works under the direction of Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor. Performs the following tasks while complying with established procedures: compiles, prepares, and summarizes relevant materials for use by attorneys in discovery and in preparation of motions, briefs and other legal documents; summarizes depositions and other transcripts; maintains case files; performs simple legal research; indexes, tracks and controls document discovery (including documents produced and received in discovery); indexes, tracks and exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial. Prepares exhibit cross-references. Assists attorneys in courtroom. Reviews documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria.
