Paralegal --- Dayton, OH (Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to provide comprehensive legal support to an in-house legal department and cross-functional business teams. This role will support a broad and evolving range of corporate legal functions, with a focus on commercial transactions, corporate records, intellectual property, legal operations, and workflow optimization.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced corporate environment. This position will serve as a key liaison between in-house counsel, outside counsel, internal stakeholders, and external organizations.
Contract Information:- 12 month contract (potential to extend)
- Hybrid requirement: 4 days/week in office

Key Responsibilities- Assist attorneys with drafting, assembling, reviewing, and editing contracts, legal agreements, and related documents.
- Support the full lifecycle of commercial contracts, including tracking execution copies, coordinating signatures, and maintaining organized files within document management systems.
- Partner with internal commercial teams to ensure clear understanding of contract terms, status, and next steps.
- Evaluate existing legal processes to identify workflow gaps, eliminate redundancies, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
- Help develop, implement, and scale legal tools, workflows, templates, and contract playbooks.
- Manage legal billing, invoicing, and budget tracking, and assist with evaluations of legal technology vendors.
- Coordinate meetings, schedules, and logistics while supporting cross-functional legal projects and ad hoc requests.
- Serve as the primary intake specialist for new legal requests, gathering necessary documentation and managing multiple matters simultaneously.
- Review incoming patent correspondence, maintain the internal intellectual property docket, and monitor critical IP deadlines.
- Conduct project-based legal research at the direction of corporate counsel.
- Prepare and file legal documents with appropriate regulatory and government agencies.
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of experience in a legal or corporate environment.
- Experience working cross-functionally with stakeholders in areas such as technology, finance, legal, IT, engineering, and business operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills, initiative, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong grammar, composition, and legal proofreading skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel; Google Workspace; Adobe Acrobat; and corporate document management systems.
- Ability and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies, legal tools, and workflows.
- Strong discretion and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and judgment skills, including the ability to appropriately escalate issues.
- Foundational knowledge of basic contracting principles and legal requirements.
Education & Preferred Experience- Bachelor's degree and/or a paralegal certificate or degree from an ABA-approved program.
- Prior experience in a corporate legal department or law firm is preferred.
- Experience with transactional legal work and corporate governance is highly preferred.
