    Description

    Provides comprehensive legal assistance and supports a broad, evolving range of corporate legal functions for the legal department and cross-functional business teams. Acts as a key liaison between in-house counsel, outside counsel, external organizations, and internal employees. This role serves as a flexible, solutions-oriented partner dedicated to supporting commercial transactions, maintaining accurate corporate records, and optimizing legal workflows. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Assist under attorney supervision with drafting, assembling, reviewing, and editing contracts, legal agreements, and ancillary documents.

    • Support the lifecycle of commercial contracts, including tracking execution copies, collecting signatures, and organizing files within the document management system.

    • Partner with internal commercial teams to ensure a clear understanding of contract terms and progress.

    • Evaluate existing processes to fill workflow gaps, eliminate redundant procedures, reduce costs, and optimize overall operations.

    • Help evaluate, create, and scale legal tools, workflows, templates, and contract playbooks.

    • Manage legal billing, invoicing, and budget tracking, and assist with legal technology vendor evaluations.

    • Coordinate schedules and logistics for meetings, and support cross-functional legal projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.

    • Serve as the primary intake specialist to gather documentation for new legal requests and concurrently manage multiple matters.

    • Review incoming patent correspondence, maintain the internal docketing database, and ensure critical intellectual property deadlines are met.

    • Conduct project-based legal research as directed by corporate counsel, and prepare and file legal documents with appropriate regulatory and government entities.

    • 3+ years of experience in a legal or corporate environment, working cross-functionally with stakeholders in technology, finance, legal, IT, engineering, and business.

    • Proven ability to interface with clients and communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

    • Strong organizational skills, initiative, and high attention to detail, with a proven ability to work independently.

    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing demands while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

    • High proficiency in grammar, composition, and legal proofreading.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel), Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and corporate document management systems.

    • Openness to learning, adopting, and leveraging new technological solutions and legal workflows.

    • Demonstrated ability to exercise strict discretion and maintain absolute confidentiality with sensitive information.

    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, backed by strong judgment and the capacity to escalate issues appropriately.

    • Foundational knowledge of basic contracting principles and legal requirements.

    • Bachelor's degree and/or a paralegal certificate or degree from an ABA-approved program.

    • Prior experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm, with exposure to transactional work and corporate governance highly preferred.
