The client is an established law firm with a real estate and finance practice. The firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate and Finance Paralegal to support complex transactional matters in its Tampa, FL office.
About the Role
The client is seeking a full-time Commercial Real Estate and Finance Paralegal to manage complex commercial transactions from inception through closing. This role will support acquisitions, dispositions, financing transactions, and multi-site developments across multiple jurisdictions.
The Paralegal will be responsible for coordinating due diligence, reviewing title and survey materials, preparing transaction documents, managing closing checklists, assisting with closings, and handling post-closing requirements. This position requires strong client communication, excellent organization, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced law firm environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage commercial real estate and finance transactions from start to finish
Order, review, and analyze title documents, commitments, search reports, surveys, inspections, exception documents, and title endorsements
Coordinate due diligence for large commercial and residential real estate transactions
Track contract critical dates and manage closing checklists
Assist with closings, including conveyance documents, closing statements, transfer tax forms, and escrow release documentation
Prepare closing indices, organize closing binders, and monitor post-closing deliverables
Prepare correspondence, memoranda, lease abstracts, and loan document abstracts
Review and summarize UCC, judgment, tax, and lien searches
Draft and review business and real estate contracts
Prepare and file deeds, mortgages, memoranda of leases, UCC financing statements, and related documents
Requirements
At least 5 years of commercial real estate and/or finance paralegal experience in a law firm setting
Strong understanding of title and survey processes, commercial closings, and real estate finance
Experience managing complex commercial real estate transactions from inception through closing
Proficiency preparing real estate documents, closing checklists, and title policy forms
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with iManage and Aderant is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, administrative, analytical, and research skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment
