    Role Description This is a part-time, some remote and some in person, Paralegal role. The Paralegal will support attorney by preparing and organizing legal documents, managing case files, and assisting with scheduling and deadlines. Day-to-day tasks include conducting legal and factual research, reviewing and summarizing documents, drafting correspondence and basic pleadings, and maintaining accurate records. The role also involves communicating with clients and courts, coordinating signatures and filings, and ensuring all documentation complies with relevant Circuit Court local rules and procedures. The Paralegal will collaborate closely with the legal team to help move cases forward efficiently and professionally.

    Qualifications

    • \n
    • Foundational knowledge of Michigan Family Law, including familiarity with Oakland, Macomb and Wayne court procedures.
    • \n
    • Strong Legal Document Preparation skills, including drafting, formatting, and organizing pleadings, motions, and client correspondence.
    • \n
    • Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
    • \n
    • Proficient Research abilities, including legal research, fact-gathering, and use of online legal databases.
    • \n
    • Careful Document Review skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in proofreading and verifying information.
    • \n
    • Relevant experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm or similar setting.
    • \n
    • Paralegal certificate or degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.
    • \n
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple matters and deadlines.

    • Proficiency with standard office software and legal practice management tools.

    • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct in client and case handling.
