Job Title: Paralegal
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00/hour, DOE
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Join a local criminal defense and divorce/custody law firm in Eugene, Oregon, as a Paralegal and become an integral part of a dedicated legal team. As a Paralegal, youll support attorneys, assist current and prospective clients, organize discovery, prepare for trials, and help ensure the smooth operation of the firms daily activities.
What You'll Do
As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for:
- Screening prospective clients and gathering initial information before referring them to attorneys
- Assisting current and new clients both over the phone and in person
- Drafting and filing legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail
- Answering phone calls using a multi-line phone system and providing professional customer service
- Organizing discovery materials and assisting with trial preparation
- Using Microsoft Office and Adobe to prepare, manage, and organize documents
- Maintaining organized case files, schedules, and important deadlines
- Performing other legal and administrative duties as assigned
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Prior paralegal experience required
- A 4-year university degree or significant, proven experience in a high-volume legal practice
- Prior receptionist experience required
- Knowledge of legal principles, practices, and procedures
- Ability to handle and respect confidential client information
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional, approachable demeanor
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage files, schedules, and deadlines
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in legal documentation and processes
- Ability to learn new programs and systems quickly
- A strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
