Training within 2 years or willing to be trainedC.P.I. training with current record or willing to be trainedAble to lift at least 50 pounds, stoop, bend and kneel on one or both knees Previous experience in the following preferred:Working with individuals with medical needsBackground assisting people with disabilities DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Instructional:Ride school bus from curb to curb for student supportMonitor students for medical emergenciesAssist with loading and unloading of studentsAssist with securing students in seats and wheelchairsAssist in medical emergenciesMaintain medication records on and off the busRead and have knowledge of existing medical plans for studentsAdminister emergency medication if necessary General Responsibilities:The applicant may need to assist student at lunch time.The applicant will maintain flexible hours of employment and adjust working time to the student's needs as determined by the classroom teacher and other school professional staff.Assist the teacher in maintaining inventory of equipment, supplies and materials.Assist in maintaining files and records.The applicant will perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher, special education coordinator and building administrator.
