Job Position Statement
The School District of Athens is in search of a highly skilled and para educator and nutrition services team member to join our team. An ideal candidate would be a proactive problem solver with outstanding communication skills, and contribute to the efficiency of the school district. This individual would be motivated, and thrive on creating a climate of inclusion, trust, and productivity which represent the school district values.
Objectives of this Role
Demonstrate a strong commitment to food safety, efficient meal service, and fostering a positive environment that supports student health and well-being.
Create a productive learning environment, and nurture the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.
Job Responsibilities
Assist with preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks to students
Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Support students during meal times and encourage healthy eating habits
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving areas, and equipment
Supervise and positively engage with students during recreational, instructional, and assessment activities in and out of the classroom
Provided one-on-one and small-group academic support to students
Be an advocate for students and families in the classroom and throughout the school
Collaborate and communicate effectively with peers and colleagues
Support and follow School Board policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Preferred Qualifications
Requires at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education that is equivalent to at least 48 semester hours; or hold an associate's (or higher) degree; or pass the WorkKeys assessments of Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and Reading for Information.
