    Position Title - Panther Daycare Lead Teacher

    Qualifications - 18 years of age or older, High school diploma or equivalent, Years of experience in childcare or CDA will be considered

    Reports To - Director or Site Supervisor

    Terms of Employment - 195 day contract

    Essential Job Functions

    • Ensures all minimum licensing and Better Beginnings requirements are being met on a daily basis
    • Provide care for children, such as setting schedules and routines, grooming, feeding, changing diapers, and sanitizing rooms and toys
    • Implement the curriculum and develop individualized lesson plans with engaging and developmentally appropriate learning activities
    • Plans and implements a daily schedule and routines that meet the needs of each child
    • Monitor child progress and adjust instruction accordingly
    • Create a positive climate for children and encourage respectful interactions
    • Establish classroom behavior expectations and procedures
    • Maintains child portfolios and promote progress in all areas of child development
    • Complete developmental assessments and observations as needed for ongoing assessments
    • Communicate and work with parents to help children progress towards educational and behavioral goals
    • Completes a minimum of 2 Parent/Teacher Conferences each year and any others as needed
    • Assist in planning family involvement activities

    Other Job Functions

    • Document and record daily activities for each child in Procare
    • Ensures staff-child ratios are met at all times
    • Accompany assigned children and know classroom count at all times
    • Strives to meet each child's individual needs
    • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children, employees and others
    • Builds positive relationships with children, parents, co-workers and others
