    Position Summary

    The Panel Technician is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, wiring, and testing of industrial control panels, junction boxes, and electrical enclosures in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications, and industry standards. This role plays a critical part in delivering high-quality control systems by ensuring all panels are assembled safely, accurately, and efficiently.

    Based in Conroe, Texas, the Panel Technician will work in a manufacturing and fabrication environment, supporting a variety of industrial and automation projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and workmanship.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assemble, layout, and fabricate industrial control panels, junction boxes, and electrical enclosures.
    • Read, interpret, and execute work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and engineering drawings.
    • Perform point-to-point wiring, cable routing, wire termination, and component installation.
    • Install and mount PLCs, HMIs, relays, terminal blocks, circuit breakers, power supplies, instrumentation, and other control system components.
    • Modify enclosures and back panels through drilling, cutting, and component preparation.
    • Ensure proper wire management, labeling, identification, and overall panel organization in accordance with company and customer standards.
    • Conduct continuity checks, inspections, and basic functional testing of completed assemblies.
    • Identify and communicate discrepancies involving drawings, materials, designs, or specifications.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while complying with all company safety policies and procedures.
    • Assist with material handling, staging, inventory management, and project documentation as required.
    • Prepare completed panels for quality inspections, testing, packaging, and shipment.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and workplace safety.

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
    • Basic knowledge of industrial electrical systems, electrical components, and assembly practices.
    • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
    • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Technical degree, vocational training, or certification in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Instrumentation, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
    • Previous experience assembling industrial control panels or performing electrical fabrication work.
    • Familiarity with PLC-based control systems, instrumentation, and automation equipment.
    • Knowledge of applicable industry standards, including NEC, UL 508A, and other relevant electrical codes.
    • Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, automation, or energy-related environments.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
    • Manual dexterity required for wiring, termination, and component installation.
    • Ability to safely work around electrical equipment and fabrication tools.

    Work Environment

    • Industrial panel fabrication and assembly shop environment.
    • Regular exposure to electrical equipment, hand tools, power tools, and moderate noise levels.
    • Overtime and extended work hours may be required to meet project schedules and customer commitments.
