Paint Prep Technician

We are hiring Paint Prep Technicians to join a busy aerospace manufacturing and repair facility! This position focuses on preparing parts and components for painting, including sanding, masking, surface finishing, and Bondo/composite repair work.

We are looking for candidates who have experience in automotive body work, paint prep, composites, or surface finishing. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on experience who is detail-oriented and comfortable working with different tools and materials.

Job Responsibilities

• Sand, mask, and prepare parts and surfaces for painting.

• Perform Bondo, filler, and composite repair work to smooth and restore surfaces.

• Clean, prep, and inspect parts before the painting process.

• Use hand tools, power sanders, grinders, and other surface preparation equipment.

• Apply masking tape and protective materials to areas that do not require paint.

• Identify and correct surface imperfections, scratches, and other defects.

• Follow detailed work instructions, specifications, and FAA quality standards.

• Inspect completed work to ensure surfaces meet quality requirements.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in paint prep, automotive body work, composites, or manufacturing preferred.

• Experience with sanding, masking, and surface preparation.

• Familiarity with Bondo, body fillers, or composite repair work is a plus.

• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and sanding equipment.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and quality standards.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify surface imperfections.

• Dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn.
