Position Overview
The Paint & Body Technician will perform high-quality cosmetic repairs on construction equipment including dozers, articulated dump trucks, excavators, skid steers, rollers, loaders, tractors, and more. You'll work with equipment from manufacturers such as Sany, CAT, Volvo, Bell, and Kubota.
This position will work alongside the Lead Painter and will have the opportunity to develop into a backup resource across all areas of paint and body repair.
This is a direct position with our client.
Pay range is 50 - 60 K annually
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Assist the Lead Painter with repairing and painting construction equipment using spray-painting equipment, power tools, and other industry equipment.
Prepare equipment surfaces for painting through sanding, wet sanding, buffing, masking, and priming.
Repair and restore equipment bodies, frames, and painted surfaces.
Perform bodywork repairs including welding, panel replacement, and dent removal.
Sand, mask, and paint surfaces and blend and polish finishes to match surrounding areas.
Sandblast equipment attachments and components using portable compressors and appropriate equipment.
Mix and color-match paint for equipment being prepared for refinishing.
Apply paint, coatings, and finishes using spray guns and other equipment.
Inspect equipment for damage and determine appropriate repair procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, parts used, and work performed.
Work with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Previous experience as a body technician or painter; heavy construction equipment experience is preferred.
Knowledge of welding, metal fabrication, and body repair techniques.
Experience with surface preparation, painting, and finishing.
Ability to operate spray guns, sanders, grinders, and other relevant tools.
Understanding of painting and bodywork safety procedures.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift heavy parts and work in varying environmental conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical training or certification in body repair or painting is a plus.
Self-motivated with a trainable attitude.
Ownership of a complete set of tools associated with the position.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
