Hiring Range $340,000.00 to 450,000.00

Actual pay depends on specialty, experience, and performance.

Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking a full-time Pain Management / Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician to join our team at Riverside Hampton Roads Neurosurgical and Spine Specialist in Newport News, Virginia.

This position offers a unique opportunity to focus on comprehensive pain management andfunctional restoration within a collaborative and supportive healthcare system. The ideal candidate is passionate about evidence-based care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and improving patient quality of life through non-surgical and interventional approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal, spine, and neurologic pain conditions
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans with a focus on functional improvement
• Perform pain management and interventional procedures consistent with training and scope of practice (as applicable)
• Collaborate closely with neurosurgery, orthopedic providers, physical therapy, and multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Educate patients on treatment options, expectations, and long-term pain management strategies
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold Riverside Health’s standards of care

• Epidural steroid injections/Interlaminar and transforaminal 
• Sacroiliac joint injections
• Hip injections 
• Knee injections
• Trigger point injections
• Shoulder injections
• Nerve blocks - including occipital
• Facet blocks
• Radiofrequency ablation
• Bursa injection

Other Services Available

• Spinal cord stimulators
• Discograms
• Intrathecal pumps
• EMG testing

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, or a related specialty
• Pain Medicine Fellowship preferred but not required
• Eligible for or currently licensed to practice medicine in Virginia
• DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
• Experience performing and interpreting Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studies preferred
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach to care
