The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction.  Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy’s top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces.  Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA’s decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. #MC

SPA is seeking an outgoing, detail oriented, self-starter to provide support to the Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Undersea, Executive Director. A "Day in the Life" for this position will vary greatly, but this position will provide direct program management support to PAE Undersea and lead elements of the SPA team supporting PAE Undersea. This work may include technical research, development of mitigation plans, technical writing, and action officer efforts.  Also, one can expect to brief senior leaders on program progress, being able to translate complex technical problems into executive-ready briefs. Travel to vendor sites for meetings and reviews is possible. It is expected that the amount of independence in this position will quickly grow as the employee becomes acclimated to our customer and product sets.

 

This position is located onsite at the Pentagon, with frequent/daily trips to Washington Navy Yard.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical or a related field
• 7+ years in engineering or technical program analysis experience
• Experience working with the Navy, either operationally or as part of a staff
• Experience working with stakeholders at the Pentagon, either operationally or as part of staff
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Proficient in using SharePoint and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, to analyze and represent data and communicate to decision makers

Desired Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in a technical or a related field
• Recent experience working in Team Submarine
• Recent experience working at the Pentagon
• Experience with program metrics, Advana, and applying them to Navy processes
• Experience with and knowledgeable of the Navy administrative processes and flag level staffing

Clearance:

• Must possess and maintain a Top Secret security clearance

Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Virginia, Pay Transparency Salary range: USD $150,000.00/Yr. - USD $170,000.00/Yr.
