TITLE: Packer CPOSITION OBJECTIVE: The Packaging Technician is responsible for the proper identification of slit rolls and to ensure each roll is packed and labeled according to the customer specifications. They are also responsible for the proper use of packaging equipment, the preventive maintenance, and housekeeping of the equipment and the area.QUALIFICATIONS:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Have the ability to verify customer requirements by reviewing the SetupHaving the ability to identify Exception codes and use the proper packing suppliesMust be able to print labels at the Packaging Station and how to verify the roll data for each finished roll coming off the conveyorsDemonstrate the basic troubleshooting of conveying systemsOperate the packaging crane in a safe and controlled mannerEnter data into the computer at the Packing Station and at the Stretch-Wrapping StationDemonstrate the basics of and be able to operate the Stretch-Wrapper in both Automatic and ManualMust be able to weigh the finished pallet and to properly apply label to pallet verifying dataMaintain good housekeeping and safe working environmentInteract and communicate with fellow packers, production supervisor, lead technician, and slitting technicians as requiredAbility to operate a forklift and to stack material using a forkliftDemonstrate the ability to use the clamp truckAssist in any function of the Slitting Department as requested by your lead operator and/or supervisor
