- Do you excel at finding the root cause of equipment failures—and fixing them fast?
- Can you read electrical schematics, work confidently with low and high voltage, and diagnose motors and controls?
- Are you fluent in pneumatics, hydraulics, and pump systems?
- Do PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and solid-state controls feel like home turf?
- Can you weld, solder, and handle basic plumbing and carpentry when it counts?
- Are you comfortable accessing every corner of a plant and its grounds to get the job done?
What you’ll do
- Proactively seek out and resolve issues across packaging and process equipment.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and repair automated packaging machinery.
- Service and rebuild pumps using sound pump theory.
- Apply pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge to maintain reliability.
- Diagnose and repair electrical power and control circuits, including PLC-controlled/solid-state equipment.
- Conduct machine safety inspections and maintain facility support systems (steam, hot water, compressed air, refrigeration).
- Identify and order replacement parts from manuals and prints; document clear written and verbal updates.
What you’ll need
High school diploma or GED; or 5+ years of relevant maintenance experience/training; or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years directly supporting the functions listed above.
- Proficiency in: PLC troubleshooting and programming; electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; hydraulics; industrial automation troubleshooting; machine safety inspections; and manufacturing best practices.
- Ability to pass the Standard Timing Model mechanical test with a score of 60% or higher.
