We are currently seeking a Packaging Operator to join the Jerome West team.
Pay: $24.24 USD per hour + $1.50 night shift differential
Shift: Rotational Night Shift, 5:00pm-5:00am; Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday one week and Wednesday, Thursday the opposite week
The Packaging Operator is responsible for packaging products in accordance with product specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and safely start up and shut down packaging equipment and associated machinery.
- Package products according to established quality, weight, and production specifications.
- Perform required quality checks and promptly identify, correct, or report product deviations.
- Inspect packaging materials for accuracy, condition, and suitability before use.
- Monitor product coding to ensure accurate identification and traceability.
- Calibrate and monitor weight scales, metal detectors, and other required inspection equipment.
- Make computerized weight adjustments and equipment calibrations as needed.
- Operate the palletizer and stretch-wrap machine safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine equipment inspections, basic troubleshooting, and operator-level maintenance.
- Complete production, quality, sanitation, and equipment records accurately and on time.
- Meet established production targets and document downtime or reasons goals are not achieved.
- Complete assigned sanitation duties and maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work area in accordance with 5S standards.
- Follow all GMP, HACCP, food safety, workplace safety, regulatory, and plant policies and procedures.
- Immediately report food safety, product quality, equipment, or workplace safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
Packaging Qualifications:
- Ideal candidates will have prior experience in a manufacturing environment and be willing to roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to be a team player.
