Job Title: Packaging
Location: Mebane, NC
Shift: Night Shift 6:30a-7p 2-2-3 Schedule
Pay: $18.84 plus 10% Shift Differential
Position Summary:
Responsible for operating and monitoring packaging equipment to ensure bakery products are packaged, labeled, inspected, and prepared for shipment according to company quality and production standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor automated and semi-automated packaging equipment.
- Set up packaging machines and make routine adjustments to maintain proper production flow.
- Load packaging materials, including bags, cartons, labels, and film, into equipment.
- Inspect packaged products for proper seal, weight, appearance, labeling, and package integrity.
- Remove defective or improperly packaged products from the production line.
- Monitor equipment for jams, malfunctions, or other issues and notify the appropriate personnel.
- Perform routine quality checks and accurately document results.
- Ensure correct product, packaging materials, labels, and lot codes are being used.
- Assist with product changeovers, equipment cleaning, and line sanitation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work area.
- Follow GMP, food safety, HACCP, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Accurately complete production and packaging paperwork.
- Stack, palletize, and prepare finished cases for storage or shipment as required.
- Work with Line Operators and other production personnel to maintain efficient line operations.
- Meet established production, quality, safety, and efficiency goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous packaging, production, or food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to operate and monitor production equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift and move products or materials as required.
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
