Packaging Manufacturing Quality Technician (Folding Cartons)
Are you meticulous, steady under pressure, and energized by nighttime production? At Wynalda Packaging, a leader in folding carton solutions for global customers, we rely on third-shift quality professionals to keep every specification on target.
Your mission
Guard product quality from incoming materials through finished goods. Ensure every order aligns with contractual requirements across printing, bindery, die-cutting, and gluing.
Third-shift schedule
- 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM
- Overtime as needed
How you’ll contribute
- Launch with confidence: Complete and document all start-up procedures per Work Instructions on printing presses, die-cutters, and gluers at Graphic Drive, and on printing presses and bindery equipment at Montana Trail.
- Verify materials: Test inbound raw materials prior to production and perform tests on finished goods.
- Control the run: Perform regular retain checks for each job in every department; at job close, verify proofs, sign-off sheets, and retains.
- Dimensions & identity: Inspect cut sizes for cards, wraps, and books; remain vigilant for mixed product.
- Special handling: Inspect yellow-marked loads before die-cutting, ensure die-cutters separate them properly, and keep them segregated from good product.
- Color assurance: Verify color against customer samples.
- Gluer readiness: Confirm barcode readers and glue detectors are present and functioning on gluers.
- In-process checks: Inspect pulls and respond accordingly; initiate sorting documents when needed.
- Accountability: Track and document all scrap; audit workers and processes across the company.
- Production integrity: Verify line clearance between jobs; confirm skid tags match skid information before shipment.
- Compliance: Perform MIL-standards checks on finished products; complete shortage forms for any under-count jobs.
- Corrective actions: Issue CAPARs as required.
- Adaptability: Perform other duties as assigned.
