General Shale, Inc., the nation’s leading manufacturer of brick and masonry materials, is seeking a Packaging Machine Operator to join our Piney Flats, Tennessee manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with manufacturing experience who can operate packaging equipment safely and efficiently while supporting daily production operations.

Position Overview:

The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating the packaging line, inspecting finished concrete blocks for quality, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role also includes cleaning the concrete mixer at the end of each shift and supporting overall production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Watch and operate the packaging line to ensure efficient and consistent production

• Inspect concrete blocks for quality and identify defective products

• Perform routine clean-up duties to maintain a safe and organized work environment

• Clean the concrete mixer at the end of each shift

• Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues or production concerns

• Assist with production goals, continuous improvement initiatives, and housekeeping activities

Qualifications:

• GED or High School Diploma required; two-year degree a plus

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred

• Prior experience operating packaging machinery or automated equipment preferred

• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills a plus

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and work in hot or cold environments

• Ability to work safely, independently, and effectively in a team environment

• Full-time

Compensation:

• Starting pay of $21.97 per hour
