Description

Job Title: Packaging Machine Operator
Location: Camarillo, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: $19.00–$19.95/hour
Shift: 1st & 2nd Shift Available

Job Summary

Responsible for setting up and operating packaging equipment, preparing products and packaging components, inspecting finished products, and maintaining a clean and compliant production area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate packaging machines according to established procedures and SOPs.
  • Run packaging equipment during production and maintain required production rates.
  • Fill, cap, seal, and label bottles according to specifications.
  • Load and feed bottles into packaging equipment.
  • Adjust pill counters, cappers, labelers, sealers, and machine rails for different bottle sizes.
  • Measure pills and bottles to verify proper dimensions and machine settings.
  • Inspect packaged products and set aside defective labels, seals, or products for rework.
  • Package finished products into designated boxes and load boxes onto pallets.
  • Prepare components and materials for upcoming production runs.
  • Assist with rework and transfer product into new containers when required.
  • Complete production and batch documentation accurately.
  • Enter required information into computer systems.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, packaging rooms, and work areas between product runs.
  • Assist QC with product and room preparation.
  • Move materials and products using forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts as needed.
  • Maintain organized packaging, gowning, and storage areas.
  • Follow all safety, cGMP, FDA, and company procedures.
  • Perform other packaging-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Packaging, manufacturing, or machine operating experience preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with the ability to learn are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and SOPs.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work at a consistent production pace.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and pull throughout the shift.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Must be flexible and able to work as part of a team.
  • Must pass a drug screening and background check.

Work Details

  • Full-Time position.
  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
  • 2nd Shift: 2:15 PM – 10:45 PM.
  • Fast-paced production and packaging environment.
  • Must be able to package approximately 25–40 bottles per minute.
  • Overtime may be required.

Additional Info

  • Reports to the Packaging Coordinator.
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • Equipment includes pill counters, bottle cappers, labelers, sealers, conveyors, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other packaging equipment.
  • Must maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Strong attendance, communication, flexibility, and attention to detail are required.
