Packaging Machine Operator – 1st Shift
Schedule: 5600 AM–12:30 PM, 5AM start with overtime
Pay: $22–$24 per hour
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Packaging Machine Operator to set up and operate packaging equipment while ensuring products are packaged efficiently and meet all quality, customer, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate assigned packaging machines safely and efficiently.
- Inspect equipment before line start-up and during product changeovers.
- Clean and sanitize equipment when changing from one product to another.
- Monitor packaging line performance and take ownership of production results.
- Maintain accurate and legible production records and documentation.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment and personnel on the assigned line.
- Communicate with coworkers and maintenance staff to maintain optimal equipment performance.
- Follow all company safety, food safety, quality, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Assist other departments and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of packaging machine operator experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and quality standards.
- Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, allergens, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Required Skills & Abilities
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues in partnership with maintenance.
- Ability to identify root causes and apply appropriate corrective actions.
- Ability to read and write English; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer skills.
