Packaging Lead- 3rd Shift

This person will be the Subject Matter Expert for the Packaging area. This job will oversee all aspects of the packaging and labeling operations with a goal of maximizing throughput. Employee will be responsible to train new or job transfer employees into packaging department. Work with supervisor implementing and coaching TPM systems. The candidate will need to have the expertise to operate labelers, packaging equipment and shrink wrap machines and ensure all equipment is operating efficiently. This includes proper labeling of cans, assuring product is packaged in the proper container and that all are sealed properly. Ensure that codes are correct and legible and, if applicable, the case or package is wrapped securely. Maintains record, including overtime, as required. Employees shall follow all the plant safety and quality rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately and maintain compliance with regulations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following represent some of the essential functions of this position. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor or other members of management.

  1. Provide work assignments to labeling and packaging on the day-to-day operations.
  2. Manage truck bay trailer assignments for loading and unloading.
  3. Must be able to work any shift, drive a forklift, lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds and climb up and down ladders.
  4. Coordinate the labeling, casing, palletizing, accuracy of production and shipments and incoming goods.
  5. Assist in trouble shooting problem areas and major equipment malfunctions.
  6. Provide accountability for all goods manufactured and incoming material receipt while making sure 5S is being adhered to.
  7. Monitor hour code changes and provide QA throughout packaging process.
  8. Lead by example as it relates to Safety, GMP, housekeeping and Plant Conduct Rules.
  9. Ability to get along with fellow associates and management on a professional and respectful manner.
  10. Assist operators to meet shiftily throughput targets.

    • Must have a basic understanding of computers in order to operate equipment and to perform SAP transactions and Apps on tablets

      The approximate hourly pay for this position is $25.35. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
