Position Overview

We are seeking a Packaging Material Engineer to oversee and manage the complete packaging development process. This role requires strong expertise in critical path scheduling, packaging design, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration. The successful candidate will drive packaging innovation, ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, and deliver cost-effective solutions that optimize efficiency and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end packaging development process, including design creation, prototype development, and performance testing.
  • Troubleshoot packaging challenges involving design, materials, and processes, providing timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and product specifications to determine packaging requirements, including handling, environmental, and safety considerations.
  • Establish standards and guidelines for supplier evaluation;select and review packaging vendors to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with global suppliers, engineering, product management, operations, and sourcing teams.
  • Participate in product introduction teams to support new product launches.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, transportation, and storage.
  • Partner with engineering to optimize the packaging supply base for cost, lead time, quality, and compliance.
  • Recommend and specify efficiency tools and test methods to validate packaging designs.
  • Work closely with manufacturing to ensure packaging designs are optimized for manufacturability.

  • Ability to travel 20–40% as required.
