    JOB SUMMARY

    To case product ensuring 100% acceptable quality. To keep up with label machine and run in a safe and efficient manner.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Visually inspect machinery to be sure all personnel and obstructions are clear
    • Able to keep caser running and maintain speed of labeler
    • Ensure cases are glued properly according to QA standards
    • Operate the case coder
    • Enter case codes and check for accuracy of code prior to applying to case.
    • Check quality and accuracy of the code on the cases
    • While in operation, inspect cans for bad and missing labels, correct codes, or dented cans
    • Operator will turn off machine before attempting to correct can jams
    • Operator will notify packaging mechanic or supervisor when mechanical issues happen
    • Must be able to work as a team member

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • High School Diploma
    • General Educational Development Diploma (GED) or equivalent experience

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Effective eye/hand coordination is preferred
    • Must have good visual acuity for machine/product inspection
    • Must be able to read and write English
    • On the job training includes shadowing an experienced operator

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Sitting- to complete a task at lower levels
    • Standing- to complete most all tasks
    • Walking
    • Climbing- to get to parts department, when using ladder, on equipment
    • Reaching- to perform activities, to get tools out of toolbox
    • Kneeling- to perform work activities at low levels
    • Crawling- to perform work activities under equipment
    • Squatting
    • Bending/stooping- to pick up tools or parts, to perform work tasks at lower levels or inside a machine
    • Twisting- to perform work activities
    • Pinch- to use tools, to manipulate wires
    • Grasping/handling- using tools, manipulating parts
    • Frequent lifting of boxes is required (empty and full)
    • Lift cases of product on/off line, up to 23-44 pounds
    • Lift boxes of glue from skid, up to 50 pounds
    • Carry boxes of glue from skid to line, up to 50 pounds
