Description

Package Consultant, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US:

  • Collaborate with management and clients to align key principles governing the warehouse management system (WMS) application, assess information processing and computational needs.
  • Gather and analyze business and technical requirements for WMS integrations, translate operational needs into functional and technical specifications to support system improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Design and implement WMS integrations using Message Queues to ensure seamless data flow, optimized workflows, and real-time operational visibility across warehouse and enterprise systems.
  • Develop core WMS functionalities by design and implement configuration/code changes to improve warehouse automation, system efficiency, and integrate robotics (AMRs/ASRS) platforms.
  • Configure and maintain WMS applications in container orchestration platforms, enable deployment, version control, and continuous integration for system reliability and maintainability.
  • Deploy, scale, manage WMS applications and integration components in cloud and containerized environments using AWS services such as EC2, S3, and RDS.
  • Perform unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT), and develop test scripts to validate WMS configurations and system enhancements.
  • Create, maintain, and update comprehensive documentation for WMS design and testing procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve program and system malfunctions within the WMS to ensure optimal functionality and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Conduct training sessions for warehouse staff on WMS solutions to enhance their operational skills, ensuring they navigate and utilize system features for improved productivity.
  • Lead project teams with Programmers and Systems Analysts, oversee development and implementation of WMS enhancements.
  • Conduct cost benefit and ROI analysis for proposed enhancements to the warehouse management system application.
