A Level I Trauma Center in Ohio is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant for locum tenens coverage while an open position is filled and a new hire is trained. This role includes inpatient post-operative floor coverage and ICU care with strong physician support.Position DetailsRole: Physician Assistant (PA)Practice Setting: Inpatient post-operative floor and ICU care with office-hour responsibilitiesReason for Coverage: Open position and training of new hireSchedule and CoverageCoverage requirement is approximately 10 days per month, including coverage over two weekends. Initial coverage is needed January through April, with the potential to extend (TBD).Regular shift hours are MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM.Call requirements include 10 days of call per month with a 1:3 call ratio.Patient Volume and PopulationAverage daily patient volume is approximately 12 patients.Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients.Practice EnvironmentTrauma designation: Level IDocumentation system: EpicAPPs work autonomously.A supervising physician will round daily and is available 24/7 by phone.Clinical ResponsibilitiesSuture removalDiagnosing and treating illnessesOrdering and interpreting diagnostic testsWriting prescriptionsCoordination of careDaily roundingPre-operative physical examinationsCredentialingEstimated credentialing timeframe is approximately 6090 days if the file is clean.
