Coverage Details
-- October 19, 2026 – October 26, 2026
-- Need is 5 to 7 days per month
Shift Details
-- 24-hour cardiothoracic surgery call coverage, 7am-7am
-- Weekday and weekend coverage based on the monthly schedule
-- Must respond by phone within 15 minutes
-- Must be able to present to the hospital within 30 minutes when required
Requirements
-- Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
-- Active unrestricted Florida license or eligibility for Florida licensure
-- BLS, ACLS
-- Current DEA registration, as applicable
Required Procedures / Skills
-- Surgical first-assist support for adult cardiothoracic procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic and thoracic procedures
-- Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH), including saphenous vein conduit harvesting for CABG, required or ability to demonstrate competency
Assignment Details
-- Patient volume: 30
-- EMR: Meditech, Patient Keeper, eCW
-- Provider will support a hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery service including emergency call coverage, inpatient and emergency department consultations, and operative coverage
-- Evaluate and manage postoperative patients and provide inpatient consultations
-- Must remain available for emergent consultations and operative cases throughout the assigned 24-hour call period
-- Coverage includes collaboration with Trauma Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care/Intensivists, and Radiology as appropriate
