7 days on/7 days off, hours 7a-6p. Inpatient work only, no clinic patient schedule. APP Specialty Care Hybrid position involves days, weekends and some holidays due to 7 on/7 off schedule.

$51.05 - $76.60

APP - Hepatology, Inpatient - Charlotte, NC

Atrium Health is seeking an inpatient Hepatology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for our AH Charlotte location at Carolinas Medical Center. Due to the patient population and acuity, we are looking for Physician Assistants or Acute Care Nurse Practitioners.

Highlights of this role:

  • Inpatient, 7 days on/7 days off;
  • You will be a part of our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team providing excellent care to patients with a variety of liver diseases.
  • Join our team of Hepatologists, GI/liver fellow, APPs, in house transplant coordinators, transplant pharmacist, social worker and dietician working together to provide team focused patient care

What you'll do:

  • Manage patients with cirrhosis and the associated complications, as well as management of patients undergoing liver transplant evaluation and post-transplant patients admitted to the hospital
  • Consultations, daily rounds, progress notes, H&Ps, discharges, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, provide patient/family education and counseling for patients with chronic liver disease/cirrhosis.

Who you are:

  • Experienced APP with 2 years of either Gastroenterology experience, Hepatology/transplant, hospitalist medicine, internal medicine experience preferred
  • New grads considered if completing an APP fellowship, such as hospitalist medicine, ICU medicine or critical care
  • Physician Assistant - Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required, Master's Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. Acute Care board certification needed based upon population and acuity served.
  • APP who can demonstrate appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
  • APP who can prioritize and make proactive decisions.

Atrium Health is seeking an Inpatient Hepatology Advanced Practice Provider (PA or Acute Care NP) to join a multidisciplinary liver disease and transplant team at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. This 7-on/7-off inpatient role involves managing patients with cirrhosis, liver transplant evaluations, post-transplant care, consultations, rounds, admissions, discharges, and patient education. Candidates should have at least two years of gastroenterology, hepatology, transplant, hospitalist, or internal medicine experience, though fellowship-trained new graduates will be considered.
