P/T Guidance Counselor needed for Galloway Township (Non-Public Schools)

Hourly Rate Range: from $51.00/hr to $65.92/hr

  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid New Jersey Department of Education Certification.
  • Experience providing counseling services in a school setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, social-emotional learning, and counseling best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and community agencies.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services and/or Supervisor

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide individual and small group counseling to students addressing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and other school personnel regarding student concerns and appropriate interventions.
  • Assist in identifying students who may require additional academic, behavioral, or social-emotional supports.
  • Develop and implement counseling strategies that promote student success and well-being.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of intervention plans, as appropriate.
  • Provide crisis intervention and make referrals to outside agencies when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Child Study Teams, school personnel, and community providers to support student needs when necessary.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school climate as appropriate.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and professional development as required.
  • Maintain effective communication
  • Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, or Supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 month Part-time, hourly on an as-needed basis

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the MOESC's Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
