P.E. Instructor/Instructional Aide

Position Description:

Cowan Elementary School is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and student-centered individual to serve as a Physical Education Instructor and Instructional Aide. A teaching license is not required for this position. This is s support staff paid position. This position is 7.25 hours per day (7:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.) for 181 days of a full school year.

Physical Education Instructor (Grades K-6):

• Develop and implement engaging physical education lessons aligned with Indiana Academic Standards for Physical Education.
• Promote physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for all K-6 students.
• Assess student progress and encourage active participation and enter grades in PowerSchool.

Instructional Aide (Grade 4):

• Support fourth-grade students in developing reading, math and writing skills.
• Provide targeted academic assistance through small-group and one-on-one instruction.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to reinforce instructional goals and address individual student needs.
• Help students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and achieve learning goals.

Qualifications:

Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, effective classroom management, a positive attitude, and a passion for working with elementary-aged students. Previous experience working with children is preferred.
