About the Role:

As a Construction Project Commissioning Manager, you will work on a team delivering a hyperscale data center. You will have direct accountability for project quality and commissioning.

This job is part of the Construction Management function. They are responsible for ensuring all deliverables of construction projects are completed on time. This job is part of the Project Management function. They are responsible for the management of projects from initiation through completion. This person is responsible for all Commissioning and Quality Control related projects at the site where they will be assigned. This will include but not be limited to expansions, modifications, retrofits and "new" technology driven projects!

What You'll Do:

  • Manage site-based quality control & quality assurance programs, & ensures the GC is executing on this program effectively, while also executing the Cx program & strategically leading Google's GC & integrates with Google's Operations team to deliver the programs goals & deliverables
  • Create, update & maintain the project submittal log & all other project-specific quality control reports
  • Create, update & maintain the project submittal log & all other project-specific QC reports.
  • Review shop drawings & submittals for conformance with project specifications
  • Chair & document weekly QC meetings with site superintendent
  • DCS QC manager to meet weekly with QC managers to track/discuss/close BIM 360 QC issues.
  • Provide written daily QC reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project established standard & constructively confronts non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner
  • Conduct preparatory, initial & follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work. Verify that checklists are being used & signed off prior to the placement of concrete, steel & other similar items of work
  • Verify & document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal
  • Conduct periodic follow-up inspections to verify that work is proceeding with the contract documents & the approved submittals.
  • Document final inspections, & acceptance of the works in the various project phases.
  • Manages the quality control staff & all specialty subcontractor inspection entities to ensure all disciplines are in compliance with applicable owner/architect & contract specifications, codes, regulations & requirements.
  • Functions as the primary point of contact & liaison with the Owner for all quality control related issues.
  • Implements and/or manages the keeping of all quality control records & ensures that required reporting is accomplished.
  • Plans, schedules & coordinates (preparatory, initial & follow-up) to ensure that all required audits/inspections are performed & documented. Carry out Internal Audit at site as scheduled in the Project Quality Plan, PQP.
  • Report results to the respective superintendent(s) in an expeditious manner & acts as a catalyst for follow-up corrective actions & re-inspection when deficiencies are discovered.
  • Assists Project Safety Coordinator to implement & aggressively enforce safety programs & practices to create a safe & healthy work environment. Cx related Tasks & responsibilities may include:
  • Support technical escalations on testing scope & issues from project level, provide direction
  • Support the Quality & Cx Team in all of corporate Owner's program initiatives & meetings
  • Assist the QCx Team to develop & implement processes to ensure technical consistency & documentation of QCx program
  • Manage QCx reporting & dashboards, develop/maintain metrics
  • Support the Program Cx Manager in data collection, recordation & analysis.
  • Monitor existing on-site Cx processes for consistency & adherence to Google expectations.
  • As directed by Client, support Cx Program Manager in the proper implementation of Cx strategy/execution.
  • Work with the General Contractors to ensure their QC team understands & is following the site requirements for quality assurance & commissioning.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • The innovative mentality to develop methods that go beyond existing solutions.
  • Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions having a broad impact on the business.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
