Responsible for driving your own tractor-trailer in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures for transporting various materials in a safe and timely manner to regional or local customers.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for proper loading and securing freight to prevent movement and allow safe transport.
- Assist in loading and unloading as required.
- Layover is possible for 1 or 2 nights during the week. No Weekends
- Maintain accurate records and logs.
- Perform vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance before, during and after trips.
- Works with dispatch for delivery assignments and road service throughout the day.
- Reads bill of lading to determine assignment schedule.
- If necessary, report all incidents and accidents accurately and timely within the scope of the company and DOT required processes.
