We are a 24/7 veterinary hospital seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Emergency Veterinarian or Relief Veterinarian to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment with a skilled technical staff and a diverse caseload.
Available Shifts:
Overnight shifts (typically 10:00 PM – 9:00 AM or similar).
Flexible scheduling available for relief veterinarians.
Weekend and holiday availability preferred.
Position Overview
As an Overnight ER Veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing high-quality emergency and critical care to patients during overnight hours. You will work closely with experienced technicians and support staff to deliver efficient and compassionate medical care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide emergency and urgent care to small animal patients.
Perform physical exams, diagnostics, and develop treatment plans.
Interpret radiographs, lab results, and diagnostic tests.
Perform emergency and soft tissue surgical procedures as needed.
Oversee and collaborate with veterinary technicians and assistants.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses.
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
Qualifications:
DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
Active California veterinary license (or ability to obtain).
Experience in emergency medicine preferred, but not required.
Strong diagnostic, surgical, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
Desired Skills:
Experience with emergency/critical care cases.
Proficiency in radiology and ultrasound interpretation.
Comfort with emergency surgical procedures.
Strong decision-making and multitasking abilities.
