Over the Road (OTR) Driver

Pioneer Tank Lines is looking for experienced Class A CDL drivers to join our OTR team. Our drivers are typically home weekly and transport hazardous and non-hazardous freight throughout the Upper Midwest and across the U.S. We are a small, family-owned company where drivers work closely with dispatch and operations and are treated as an important part of the team.

Drivers are paid for all on-duty time, with mileage pay while driving and hourly pay for inspections, waiting to load or unload, breakdowns, and other on-duty time with no unpaid waiting period. Drivers also receive per diem of $40 when departing on Monday and $60 when departing on Sunday, along with safety and performance bonus opportunities.

Pioneer pays 100% of employee medical and dental insurance premiums, with dependent coverage available at a discounted rate. 

• Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer transporting hazardous and non-hazardous freight
• Complete over-the-road routes throughout the Upper Midwest and across the U.S.
• Plan and manage daily routes, driving time, breaks, fuel stops, and deliveries within Hours of Service requirements
• Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Ensure freight is properly secured and all required placards are correct before departure
• Maintain accurate DOT, shipping, and electronic documentation
• Communicate regularly with dispatch regarding load status, delays, and other issues
• Follow all DOT, FMCSA, Hazmat, and company safety requirements
• Safely load, unload, or assist with freight when required
• Maintain assigned equipment and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns
• Provide professional and courteous service when working with customers, shippers, and receivers
