About the Role
Tejas Equipment Rentals is looking for a driven, self-motivated Outside Sales Rep to grow our customer base and manage accounts across an assigned territory. You'll be the face of Tejas in the field - building relationships, matching customers with the right rental equipment, and closing deals that keep our business moving.
This is a road-based role with real earning potential for someone who thrives on independence and results.
What You'll Do
- Own your territory: travel to meet existing and prospective customers face-to-face
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
- Hit and exceed rental sales goals by landing new accounts and retaining existing ones
- Present equipment solutions tailored to each customer's specific job needs
- Negotiate and close sales deals in line with company guidelines
- Coordinate with our dispatch, drivers, and operations teams to ensure smooth service and delivery
- Track leads, accounts, and sales activity accurately
- Stay current on competitor pricing and market trends
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of outside sales experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong negotiation, networking, and customer service skills
- Self-starter who can manage a territory independently
- Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must be 24 years of age or older
Compensation
Earn up to 4% commission on rentals - the more you grow your territory, the more you make.
Working Conditions
This role involves both office and fieldwork in all weather conditions, including work around heavy equipment and machinery.
