What you will do::
  • Drive substantial new business growth by prospecting, identifying, and securing high-value new customer opportunities across the assigned territory.
  • Sell a broad portfolio of exterior building products, including roofing, siding, windows, and waterproofing materials to contractors, builders, and commercial customers.
  • Meet or exceed aggressive sales, margin, and new customer acquisition targets (30–40 annually) through disciplined pipeline management and strategic prospecting.
  • Develop and execute territory-level strategies to expand market share and penetrate new customer segments.
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and industry partners.
  • Lead complex sales engagements, including multi-location customers, large projects, and competitive bid situations.
  • Conduct in-person sales calls, jobsite visits, and customer meetings to assess needs, solve problems, and deliver value-based solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with branch leadership, operations, supply chain, and customer support teams to ensure successful onboarding and execution for new customers.
  • Provide thoughtful, well-coordinated handoffs of newly secured accounts to Account Executives, ensuring long-term customer success.
  • Maintain accurate and timely CRM documentation, including pipeline, activity tracking, and forecasting.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive dynamics, and customer trends to proactively identify growth opportunities.
  • Serve as a mentor and informal leader to less-experienced sales representatives by modeling best practices in prospecting, customer engagement, and sales execution.
  • Continuously deepen product knowledge, technical expertise, and consultative selling capabilities.
  • Travel extensively within the assigned market to pursue and close new business opportunities.
What you will bring::
  • 7–15 years of successful outside sales or business development experience with a strong, measurable track record of new customer acquisition.
  • Extensive experience in construction, building materials, wholesale distribution, or a related industry strongly preferred.
  • Proven success closing complex, high-value opportunities in competitive environments.
  • Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight while collaborating effectively across functions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • High comfort level using CRM systems, mobile sales tools, and digital resources.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
