Outside sales across all five Kitchen Guard of Houston territories, selling a service every restaurant is required by fire code to buy.
Kitchen Guard of Houston cleans and certifies commercial kitchen exhaust systems for restaurants, hotels, hospitals, schools and venues across the Houston metro. The work is mandated by NFPA 96 and the fire marshal, it recurs on a monthly or quarterly schedule, and customers stay on the schedule for years. You are selling a compliance requirement with a recurring contract behind it, not a one-time purchase.
What the job is
- Drive the Houston metro and walk into restaurants, bars, hotels and facilities offices. Most of your day is in person, not on the phone.
- Work leads from our inside team plus your own prospecting. Quote on site with our pricing tool and close.
- Hand the signed account to our operations team. You do not clean hoods, schedule crews or chase invoices.
- You are not limited to one zone. All five of our territories are open to you.
Who does well here
- Route and territory reps from food distribution (Sysco, US Foods, PFG), uniform and facility services (Cintas, Aramark, Ecolab), pest control, fire protection or restaurant equipment. If you already call on restaurant managers and owners, you are most of the way there.
- Three or more years of outside B2B sales with a quota you can talk about.
- Comfortable on a roof, in a kitchen during service, and in your vehicle between them. Site visits involve ladders and lifting 40 lb.
- Clean driving record. Houston-area resident.
Pay
- $40,000 base salary.
- 10% commission on the first-year value of every recurring contract you sign. Uncapped.
- 2% residual on those accounts every year after, for as long as you remain the rep on the account.
- The goal is $45,000 per month in new recurring contract value. Hit it and you earn about $54,000 in commission on top of base, roughly $94,000 total in year one, and a residual that reaches $10,800 per year on those accounts.
- There is no cap. Reps in the Kitchen Guard system have signed more than $1 million in a year.
- $200 per month vehicle stipend, company phone, company laptop and company credit card for expenses.
- Paid time off.
