Outside Sales RepresentativeTerritory: Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and Maryland, Employment: Full-time, W-2 salaried position; not commission-basedCompensation: Based on experience and qualificationsAbout the PositionResearch Marketing and Innovations is seeking an experienced, motivated Outside Sales Representative to maintain existing accounts and develop new business throughout the territory.We are an established manufacturers' representative serving the plumbing and mechanical industries. Our team works with contractor and wholesale distributors to provide product, technical support, and responsive customer service. The ideal candidate is personable, self-motivated, organized, comfortable working independently, and able to learn technical products. Candidates must be comfortable using measurements, sizing information, and basic calculations to help customers select appropriate products and solutions. Industry experience is helpful but not required. We will provide product training.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and grow relationships with contractors and wholesale distributors.Regularly visit existing customers and prospective accounts.Identify and pursue new sales opportunities.Present and promote plumbing and mechanical products.Learn customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.Assist with product selection, sizing, applications, and basic calculations.Review plans, specifications, and project information.Follow up on quotes, projects, customer questions, and sales opportunities.Conduct product presentations and customer training.Track sales calls and opportunities using SAP, Versago, and other company systems.Attend sales meetings, manufacturer training, trade shows, and customer events.Manage the territory independently and work toward established sales goals.QualificationsPrevious sales, account management, business development, customer service, construction, distribution, or related experience.Strong communication and relationship-building skills.Ability to learn technical products and solve customer problems.Comfortable working with numbers and basic calculations.Organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and responsive.Self-motivated and able to manage a territory independently.Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM or sales-tracking systems.Willing to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.Experience with plumbing, HVAC, hydronics, mechanical systems, construction products, industrial products, or technical sales is helpful but not required.BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceMatching 401(k) plan15 days of paid time offPaid holidaysMileage reimbursementCompany-provided cell phone and computerProduct and industry trainingThis is an opportunity to build a long-term career with a growing company that values strong relationships, teamwork, integrity, and excellent customer service.
