Integrity Staffing Services is currently seeking experienced Outside Machinists to support ship repair operations in Norfolk, VA. Qualified candidates should have hands-on experience installing, repairing, maintaining, and overhauling mechanical equipment aboard U.S. Navy vessels or other marine vessels.
This position requires a strong mechanical background, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and experience working in an active shipyard environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, repair, and overhaul shipboard mechanical equipment, including pumps, valves, compressors, and related machinery.
- Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble mechanical components and systems.
- Perform mechanical alignments, including shaft, coupling, and equipment alignment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges.
- Inspect mechanical components for wear, damage, and proper operation.
- Remove and reinstall shipboard machinery and associated equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- Must have previous experience as an Outside Machinist in a shipyard or marine repair environment
- Must have experience working aboard U.S. Navy vessels
- Must have strong knowledge of shipboard mechanical systems, equipment installation, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions is required.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and mechanical hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with shipyard safety procedures and requirements.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Must be able to meet applicable shipyard access and badging requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Shift:
- 1st Shift (Day Shift): 6am-4:30pm, Monday-Saturday
Pay Rate:
- $25.00–$30.00/hour, depending on qualifications and experience
