    Description

    Role: Therapist (Outpatient)

    Shift: M-F

    Hours: 8-4:30

     

    The Role Itself  

    • Conducts individual/group therapy for psychological and substance abuse education.

    Active in treatment planning, family counseling, and interdisciplinary team collaboration.

    • Communicates effectively with clients, families, and outside sources, ensuring proactive engagement.

    • Demonstrates crisis intervention skills, ensuring patient safety and assisting in care coordination.

    • Maintains knowledge of confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and clinical standards.

    • Applies working knowledge of TJC, Medicaid, and state/federal laws in clinical practice.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:
    To qualify as Outpatient Therapist/Counselor, you must have:
    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Master's degree in Social Work or Marriage and Family Counseling required
    • An active license to practice in the State of Ohio in Social Work or Counseling (MSW, LSW, LISW, MFT, LPC, or LPCC).
    • Experience in groups and substance abuse treatment. 2 years relevant experience with the psychiatric population preferred.
    • Ability to be a team player. Ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, and government agencies.
    • Basic computer literacy skills.
    • Knowledge of social services practices and procedures.
    • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
    • If recovering, at least 2 years of unbroken sobriety (alcohol and drugs).
    • As Outpatient Therapist / Counselor, you will:
    • Provide psychotherapy and counseling therapies on an outpatient basis, including group, individual, and family therapy for patients suffering from psychiatric conditions.
    • Ensure accurate and timely patient documentation for the outpatient services.
    • Provide direct social work services to patients and their families as a part of the multidisciplinary team with most emphases on completing Psychosocial Assessments, facilitating psycho-educational training, family meetings, assisting in program development, and developing, implementing, and reviewing Treatment Plans.
    • Accept direction from the Program Director.
    • May be asked to run a group on the inpatient unit, if needed.
