QUALIFICATIONS:

 

JOB SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES:

  •  Skilled at inserting and maintaining IV’s; skilled working with central lines and other venous access routes
  •  Skillfully and accurately able to triage and assess Oncology patient – knowing what Oncology emergencies are. Patient Advocate at all times
  •  Knows and keeps up with all Oncology drugs and their side effects, and toxicity dosing
  •  Maintains OCN and Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certificates

  •  Able to work effectively in a protocol driven setting 9. Exceptional assessment skills for the cancer population.
  •  Skilled at inserting and maintaining IV's; skilled working with central lines and other venous access routes.
  •  Able to initiate and maintain strong interpersonal/psychosocial relationships with this specific patient population.
  •  Skillfully and accurately triages cancer patient phone calls.

MANDATORY LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • CPR 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:  Registered Nurse (RN)

ADDITIONAL LICENSURE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:  RN, OCN certified or certified within 18 months of date of hire. ONS Biotherapy & Chemotherapy Certified within 30 days of hire.

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Mandatory Annual Education: Confidentiality and HIPAA Corporate Compliance Fall Prevention PPD Campaign Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Safety & Security Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering chemotherapy and providing care coordination and education to cancer patients in an outpatient setting
