Inova Gastroenterology is looking for a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 to join the team. This role will be full time day position, Monday- Friday, 8:00am- 4:30pm.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinates referrals for patient chronic care conditions and follow up care as indicated by the initial care plan of the specialist and/or primary care physician.
- Administers prescribed oral and intramuscular medications, therapies and treatments following practical nursing standards and under the direct supervision of the physician.
- Effectively communicates with healthcare team members, patients and families; Supports healthcare team members to achieve team goals and assigns appropriate tasks to care assistants.
- Maintains and reviews patient medical records, notes and physician orders; Documents all patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and legal requirements for medical facilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Vocational / Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing
- License: Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Experience: 2 years of nursing practice in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience as a LPN
