Description

We hang Christmas lights; you sell holiday magic in September. 904 Holiday Lights is Jacksonville's fastest-growing holiday-lighting company, and we're building this year's door team.

How the pay works

  • This is a commission-only W-2 sales job. No base pay, no cap. Here is the full structure.
  • You earn a commission on every job you sell, and your rate climbs with your season sales: 15% of your first $20,000 sold, 18% from $20,000 to $70,000, 21% from $70,000 to $120,000, and 24% above that. Once you earn a rate it never drops back down. On an average job that's about $300-$480 per sale.
  • A $500 training bonus. Once you have knocked your first 500 doors, we pay you $500, whether or not you have closed a sale by then. Most reps reach it in their second week.
  • Cash bonuses stack on top: $250 when you pass $20,000 sold, $500 at $70,000, $1,000 at $120,000, and $100 on your first sale. Every $100 you sell also earns a point, redeemed for cash at season end, and the #1 earner takes a season-end grand prize.
  • Reps who make our cut earn roughly $5,000-$14,000+ per month during the selling season. A solid rep who starts with this group earns around $22,000 by Thanksgiving, and top reps clear $30,000+ once bonuses and points are counted. Commission cuts both ways: a slow week is a light check.
  • Earnings vary by individual effort, hours worked, and results, and are not guaranteed. Figures reflect our commission structure and the production we expect from reps who meet our performance standards.

The schedule

  • Doors go live Monday, Aug 31. New groups start every two weeks through September.
  • Prime knocking is afternoons and evenings (4-9pm), so your mornings stay yours.
  • Most reps knock their last doors mid-November. Season ends, income doesn't. Convert to our install crew through January, or lock your spot for next summer.

Where this goes

  • Two paths up from the doors. The leadership path: top performers can earn a team-lead promotion and run their own pod. The sales path: the best reps move to inside sales, closing booked calls instead of knocking - a full-time closer's peak six weeks project at $25,000+.
  • Inside sales leads to account executive. AEs keep their book of business: returning customers pay you a commission every season they come back, on top of your new sales. A top year two projects at $40,000+ working October and November, and the book keeps growing each year you keep it.
  • On either path, advancement is based on your sales and quality numbers, not on tenure.

Who fits

  • You love the holiday season and light displays, and it shows.
  • 18+, reliable transportation, afternoons/evenings available September-November.
  • No sales experience required to apply. We train you at a bootcamp before you knock a door, and drill you daily after that. Coachability beats polish.

How hiring works

  1. Apply and you'll hear from us the same day.
  2. Send a 60-second video of our door opener (we send you the script).
  3. Group interview Thursday, Aug 27. Offers go out the same day. Bootcamp starts Friday, Aug 28, and doors go live Monday, Aug 31. Miss this round and the next one interviews Thursday, Sep 10 and goes live Monday, Sep 14.
