Outdoor Power Equipment Service Specialist

Join Sears Home Services and spend your days solving mechanical puzzles that keep customers’ yards in motion. You’ll start from your assigned truck in Southfield, MI, head out across the community, and bring lawn mowers, lawn tractors, and leaf blowers back to life—delivering a customer experience that feels like a rescue.

What you’ll tackle

  • Visit multiple customer homes daily to diagnose and repair a range of outdoor power equipment with accuracy and speed.
  • Deliver a top-tier customer experience—clear explanations, professional workmanship, and a friendly demeanor.
  • Recommend value-added options that help make homes more clean, comfortable, and protected.
  • Keep your company vehicle organized, well-maintained, and stocked; manage parts efficiently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • High school diploma or general education degree.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort using testing and repair tools.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing home appliances/outdoor power equipment preferred.
  • Ability to follow standardized processes for consistent, high-quality work.
  • Capable with a smartphone for part ordering and job documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license for the state(s) where you work.
  • Ability to travel up to 100%.
  • Ability to work variable and flexible hours, including required overtime.
  • Comfort reading and applying technical documentation to answer questions, solve problems, and complete tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Physical capability to constantly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs; frequently up to 50 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to constantly reach outward; handle and finger objects; stand, walk, sit, and type using a keyboard; frequently bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, stoop, climb, and crawl; and occasionally reach above shoulder.
  • Ability to drive automatic transmission vehicle.

Compensation & benefits

  • Great hourly rates: $18 - $20 hourly base rate, depending on experience, certification, and location.
