Remote Nuclear Outage Planner (Expert Level)

Are you a seasoned Nuclear Planner looking for your next challenge? We"re seeking an expert-level Nuclear Outage Planner to support critical outage and maintenance activities at a nuclear generating station. This is a remote opportunity for a highly skilled professional who thrives in complex, highly regulated environments and has a passion for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.

In this role, you"ll leverage your planning expertise to develop detailed work packages, preventive maintenance plans, and outage execution strategies that keep nuclear facilities operating at the highest standards of safety and performance.

What You"ll Do

As a Nuclear Outage Planner, you will play a key role in planning and preparing work activities across multiple disciplines, ensuring all work packages are complete, accurate, and ready for execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop work orders supporting:

  • Preventive Maintenance (PM)

  • Corrective Maintenance

  • Surveillance Testing

  • Plant Modifications and Design Changes

  • Create comprehensive work packages that define labor, materials, procedures, tooling, safety requirements, and work standards.

  • Collaborate with station personnel, engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to identify repair and replacement needs.

  • Identify, source, and order materials and components required for planned work activities.

  • Develop planning standards and best practices to support outage execution and maintenance excellence.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior planners.

  • Create work packages across multiple disciplines, including:

  • Mechanical

  • Civil

  • Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)

  • Electrical

  • Generate weld data sheets and supporting documentation in accordance with applicable ASME codes, station procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure all planning activities meet nuclear industry standards for quality, compliance, and safety.

What We"re Looking For

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

7+ years of planning experience in a nuclear power environment

7+ years of nuclear industry experience

Strong experience developing maintenance and outage work packages

Proficiency with NAMS software

Ability to independently plan complex maintenance, modification, and corrective work activities

Knowledge of nuclear maintenance procedures, work control processes, and industry regulations

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor"s Degree

Trade School Graduate

10+ years of nuclear industry experience

10+ years of planning experience supporting nuclear outages and maintenance

Advanced experience developing multi-discipline work packages and ASME-compliant documentation

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
