Position Description
Assistant/Associate Professor
Department of Dermatology
Full-time faculty position with appointment at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology, College of Medicine, University of Oklahoma Health Campus. The individual filling this position may provide clinical services at the Oklahoma City location and/or VA Hospital. The exact allocation of time may vary depending upon staffing levels and the needs of the institution.
Doctoral degree (MD, DO) with certification in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology or board eligible. Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery (Mohs) fellowship trained and board eligible. The individual must be eligible for a permanent Oklahoma State Medical License.
III. Areas of Responsibility
The individual filling this position will be appointed as Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology. This person will function primarily in a service capacity, but the position also entails teaching and research responsibilities outlined as follows.
This position requires clinical service for patient care. Responsibilities will include provision of outpatient clinic services and supervision of residents and medical students.
The individual will participate in the teaching programs of the department including medical education, residency training, and faculty development. Didactic presentations, small group discussions, problem-based learning, and clinical scenarios will all be part of the teaching methodologies needed. Continuing education needs of the department and/or community-based physicians may also be included.
The individual may participate in clinical or basic science research, but this is not required on the clinical educator track.
