OT Systems Engineer

BlueWave is hiring an OT Systems Engineer for a technology client based in Southaven, Mississippi. In this role, you will help redesign, deploy, and support reliable infrastructure for operational technology and industrial control environments. You will work with engineering, IT, security, and operations teams to modernize systems, improve availability, and support controlled technology changes.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and enhance operational technology environments supporting critical industrial systems.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot control-system software and human-machine interface platforms.
• Develop and maintain testing and staging environments for controlled system changes.
• Integrate virtualization, distributed computing, redundancy, and other IT capabilities into OT environments.
• Monitor system performance, respond to incidents, and maintain high availability.
• Perform system upgrades and maintenance, including occasional evening or weekend work when required.
• Use automation, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code practices to improve system administration.
• Support simulation and emulation environments used for testing and change control.
• Create and maintain system architecture documents, design drawings, operating procedures, and technical standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, cybersecurity, operations, vendors, and integration partners to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain systems in accordance with applicable OT architecture and cybersecurity standards.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in OT systems engineering or industrial control systems administration.
• Hands-on experience with multiple industrial control software platforms and tools.
• Experience designing, deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting OT systems in high-reliability environments.
• Working knowledge of industrial protocols, control networks, and OT cybersecurity practices.
• Experience administering Windows and Linux servers.
• Understanding of network administration, the OSI model, and Layer 1, 2, and 3 considerations for industrial networks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Employment Type: 13-week contract, onsite in Southaven, Mississippi, with the potential for extension or conversion to direct employment.
