Occupational Therapist – Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home

Job Purpose:
The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients/residents, develops individualized care plans, and provides therapeutic interventions as prescribed by the referring physician, while considering each patient's physical, developmental, and age-specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients/residents to determine occupational therapy needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable goals.
• Provide appropriate occupational therapy interventions to improve functional abilities.
• Help patients/residents achieve the highest possible level of independence.
• Address activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, strength, coordination, and functional performance.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Communicate patient status and progress with physicians, nursing staff, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Complete required therapy documentation, progress notes, and treatment records.
• Participate in discharge planning and recommend appropriate equipment or modifications when needed.
• Provide age-specific care based on the patient's physical and developmental needs.
• Follow hospital/nursing-home policies, professional standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy.
• NBCOT certification (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy).
• Appropriate New York State Occupational Therapist licensure should be verified for the position.
