TekCom Resources is seeking a Splicing Supervisor for a full-time, permanent-hire role with one of our fast-growing clients in the Ohio/Indiana area! The ideal candidate can be in Columbus, OH Richmond, IN or Cincinnati, OH!

A company vehicle will be provided for this role! Compensation will consist of a base salary PLUS a bonus.
As Splicing Manager, you will:
  • Supervise the planning and execution of projects and contracts, engaging in network planning, scheduling and closeout activities.
  • Ensure that splicing quality meets our client's expectations.
  • Supervise OTDR testing
  • Troubleshoot damaged fibers and failed spans identified during testing
  • Oversee subcontractor work, as well as approve invoicing of said work and ensure cost can be accommodated by project budget.
  • Ensure that splicing projects meet timelines provided by client.
  • Engage in job hazard analysis and provide safety briefings to employees and contractors as needed.
  • Coordinate cutovers, fiber migrations and network turn-ups while minimizing service interruptions
  • Maintain compliance with customer specifications, construction standards and safety procedures during aerial, underground and inside plant splicing activities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and prints, work orders and "cut sheets" to determine correct sequence of work.
Qualifications:
  • hands-on experience in fiber optic construction, fusion splicing and/or coax splicing and testing.
  • Experience with aerial, underground, and inside-plant fiber installations.
  • Proficiency with optical loss testing (OLTS), power meter/light source testing, and troubleshooting fiber impairments.
  • Ability to coordinate with project managers, construction supervisors, utility representatives, and customers.
  • Strong quality-control skills to ensure splicing and testing meet customer and project specifications.
  • Experience training, mentoring, and evaluating fiber technicians.
